Persia

We all remember the fiesty white girl from "The White Rapper Show." She's more than just that white girl from The White Rapper Show her name is Persia. Persia is one of the rawess spitting femcees left to hold the torch for those who like lyricism. Hailing from Far Rockaway Queens the girl got spunk accompanied with beauty and charisma, the full package.Hip Hop runs through her veins and rapping to a beat is like a marriage when she performs on the M.I.C. Lately battle rap has entered her world and with a glance she has adjusted to it nicely.Persia has what it takes to bring Hip Hop to its knees and beg for forgiveness. She's a fighter and the struggle is written all over her face. With that being said lets take some time and see if we can get some pieces of Persia's life.
Battlerapics introduces
PERSIA

1.It's been a long time since "The White Rapper Show", what's been on your plate?
Persia
Between fighting a case and becoming a mother I thought I would never get back to the music.
But once I got everything squared away it only seemed right to pick up where I left off and jump back in the studio. I released my second mixtape "The Truth" last summer and am set to release "Ruby In The Rough" this summer followed by the EP "Crown On Tilt".  Add to that my first battle opposite Raine and a few more coming up, I'm just doing what I always do....staying consistent.

2.When did you first start rapping and knew this is what you wanted to do?
 Persia
I've always been in love with Hip Hop, rapping along with the radio but it was never something I considered doing or even knew I could do. The first time I ever spit was at the auditions for "The White Rapper Show", after seeing everyone's reactions and the things that were being said I knew this was something God gave me and I needed to pursue it.

3.You had a great battle with Boss Chick Raine, does that mean you are going to be stepping in the ring again?
 Persia
I'm actually set to lock in my next battle now. My music is my main focus but I will be jumping in the ring a few more times.

4.You have a unique,  raw head nodding flow and spit game, do you think you are needed and relevant in Hip Hop now.
 Persia
I think I'm what the game is missing, my fans love me for that very reason, I'm what they remember Hip Hop to be...real and raw. I don't think many females are bringing that and mainstream noone is.

5.What is your take on the female battle rap scene, how do you feel about it as a whole?
 Persia
I think it's a really dope movement. Females have long been able to do this just as well if not better than men and they deserve the same opportunities and the same respect.

6.You being white in a black dominated culture, do you feel your @ an advantage
 Persia
You would think I would be, seeing as there has been a wave in white rappers lately Lol
But I guess I'm the black sheep of this whole white rapper movement.
I'm too white to be black and too black to be white.....I'm good with that though.

7.Names some Hip Hop influences that molded Persia to the femcee she is today.
  Persia
I'm a product of my environment....M.O.P, MC Lyte, Nikki D, Jay Z, Brand Nubian, Big Daddy Kane....just to name a few - those are the people that molded me.

8.How did you feel when Star contacted you and said "Hey look I want you to battle someone in my event.
 Persia
Honestly I was scared and excited at the same time. I was sure I could do it but I wasn't sure I could do it, if that makes any sense. The last time a lot of people seen me was when I choked on The White Rapper Show, that moment has f'ed with me for a long time. I didnt know if the risk was worth it seeing as a loss could of set me back musically I think. But in the end I told myself life is about doing the things you're not sure you can do.....if we only do what we know we can succeed at, we're not really living.

9.Do you have any femcees in your scope that you would like to battle?
 Persia
I watch battles here and there but I dont really know anyone well enough to say I have my eye on.

10.How did it feel being on a national show, millions of people watching each week.
 Persia
It was weird, all of a sudden everyone knew who I was....I had fans that wanted autographs, I remember googling what I should write in an autograph cause just my name seemed so impersonal LOL People I had admired in Hip Hop for years were giving me props and knew who I was, it was a really dope experience.

11.Has there been any offers (record deals) offered to you over the years?
 Persia
After the show a couple labels expressed interest but I was fighting a gun charge and that kinda soured everything at the moment. But I'm still here, we still 'gon get the this deal !

12.Other than rapping, What does Persia like to indulged herself into?
 Persia
Lately it's just been me and the music.....and a couple pairs of new shoes.
I indulge in love...I'll let you know when I find it Lol

13.Do you feel as though your time has come and gone or do you think you can still make an impact on the hip hop world?
 Persia
I do think I missed a window of opportunity when I had just come off the show but I trust that God put me here for a reason and it's my job to fight for what's mine....so fight I will. Your destiny never changes, some people just get tired of fighting for it and give up....I'm not one of those
people.

14.What was going through your mind as you prepared for your battle with Raine?
 Persia
Truthfully all I was concerened with was remembering my bars....

15.Do you think it is easy or harder for women now to pursue a career in Hip Hop?
 Persia
It's definitely harder for women now, it's not really about skill anymore....
Mc Lyte, Latifah, Nikki D....none of these females would be poppin in this era,
which goes to show you how fucked up the game is cause those are the greats.

16.Are you in a relationship or can the dogs a come and barkin?..lol
 Persia
I'm single...but no dogs please, I've had my fair share of those LOL

17.If you had a chance to speak at a presidential event what would you say to the world?
 Persia
Change the world.....don't let it change you.
